STRONG SUMMER FOR BRA – GEARS UP FOR THE AUTUMN

On May 12, the airline BRA restarted after 13 months without scheduled traffic. Starting up in the middle of a pandemic entails many uncertainties, but with the results in hand, it was a stroke of luck to restart before the summer. ”With this fantastic summer behind us, it feels completely right to gear up for the autumn,” says the airline’s new commercial manager Martin Erkenborn.

As the number of vaccinated increased at the same time as the number of infections decreased in society before the summer, the demand was great among the Swedes. This is confirmed when BRA released statistics for travel during the summer months of June, July and August.

Passenger growth for the airline has been great during the summer. In August, BRA had 46 percent more passengers on board than in June. The cabin factor has also been high with an average of 72 percent on the company’s route network. BRA has also regained its role as a market-leading player at Stockholm Bromma Airport and during the summer transported approximately 80 percent of all passengers who traveled to and from the city airport.

“We are so happy and grateful that so many customers have chosen to fly with us this summer. We had never dared to dream of this development when we restarted in May and we thank you most humbly for the trust. It also feels fantastically fun that we have regained our strong position at our home airport Bromma with a market share of 80 percent, ”says Martin Erkenborn.

At the end of September, the entire BRA fleet consisting of twelve ATR72-600s will be back in service to meet the demand for domestic travel during the autumn. This enables an increased number of departures on many routes as well as an adjusted timetable that is adapted for passengers traveling in the service.

“For us at BRA, it is of the utmost importance to be here for everyone who needs to fly. We now see that the demand for domestic travel is increasing and we are therefore opening up more lines and increasing the frequency on existing lines to connect Sweden now that restrictions are easing and the need to travel is increasing, ”says Martin Erkenborn.
