STRONG PASSENGER INCREASE FOR NORWEGIAN IN AUGUST

Norwegian’s traffic figures for August show a continued increase in the number of passengers. The number of bookings for future trips is also increasing in line with greater supply from Norwegian, more people getting vaccinated and vaccination sessions within the EU underway.

In August, 790,220 passengers flew with Norwegian, which is 150 percent more than the company had in August last year. The Norwegian low-cost carrier increased capacity by almost 130 per cent, while the number of revenue-generating passenger kilometers increased by almost 170 per cent compared with August 2020. The increased number of passengers also meant a higher cabin factor of 72.6 per cent.

Norwegian saw in August that travel increased and believes that an increased range of air travel, that more people get vaccinated and that vaccination passes within the EU are in place are behind the increase in passengers. In light of the increasing demand, Norwegian plans to increase the line network further during the autumn. This autumn, from Stockholm Arlanda, you can fly directly to, for example, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Krakow, Barcelona and London with Norwegian.

“Everyone who works at Norwegian is satisfied with the positive development. We have worked hard for this, and we will continue to deliver good customer experiences while working tirelessly to keep costs down to function as efficiently as possible, ”says Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian.
